LEARNING OBJECTIVES

This module focuses on risk factors and comorbidities in heart failure. Learn about innate, acquired and ‘iatrogenic’ risk factors of heart failure. How comorbidities impede the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure and which is the best way to treat coronary artery disease in patients with heart failure. The definition and diagnosis of iron deficiency, its causes and effect on heart failure. The incidence and prevalence as well as the challenges in the treatment of atrial fibrillation and heart failure. The occurrence of heart failure in diabetic patients, the frequency of diabetes in heart failure and their therapeutic implications.
